Dropbox problem/Mediafire solution/How did you find me?/new stuff...

I just got notification that my Dropbox public folder has been "temporarily suspended on account of generating excessive traffic". In the meantime, I've uploaded everything into this nice Mediafire folder: HERE

This is a bit weird to me, as my last post was almost 11 months ago. Fear not, I've not given up the trade, just a bit short on usable audio production software. Long story short: don't pirate software, kids, it only leads to tears. I'm looking at schools right now, once I'm enrolled I can get a real copy of Ableton Live at a nice discount. Then, I can take all the ideas I've got on playlists, notebooks and scraps of cardboard (seriously) and turn them into reality.

But back to my original point. Who are you people, and why are you overloading my free bandwidth, and why now? I mean, I guess this probably has something to do with it. Apparently people who use tumblr like mashups featuring Kanye West and Brand New. Speaking of that mashup, that's first on my list of things to redo once I get the proper software. It's going to be better, trust me. And speaking of tumblr, when you hit reblog, would you mind crediting me somehow? Just mention my name, or link back to this site somehow. I'd really appreciate it.

Well, enough about me. I would like to hear from you people. What's up? How was your day?

3 New ones (not here)

Well, I had 3 new songs posted here, but the post was taken down by Blo gger thanks to everyone's best friend the R-I-A-A, so I made a page with Google Pages to host them: http://sites.google.com/site/hawkinsmashups/. What they took offense to I have no idea, all the content was significantly altered, and with the thousands of pirate blogs set up that legitimately steal sales from the music industry using the same service I use, I don't know why they chose me. Oh well.

Mr. Office Man

That is the best Photoshop job ever and you know it.

Bob Dylan - Mr. Tambourine Man (DIY acapella by ToToM)
+ The Office
+ Percussion by:
Arcade Fire (Neighborhood 2)
Battles (Leyendecker)
Radiohead (Reckoner)

=Mr. Office Man

Dropbox is officially in public beta, so that link you see is a direct one. No more of that Divshare nonsense. I will eventually reup the songs I still like onto Dropbox so you don't have to click through ads for them either.
If you downloaded the song while it had the other picture with it and was on my Google page, you might want to listen again. This one is mixed better and has an intro of sorts.

4 New Ones

After doing nothing for about 4 months, I've got 4 new mashups for you folks. Let's have a look, shall we?

Big Hello

LCD Soundsystem - Big Ideas
Jay Z - Say Hello

The Jay-Z song isn't a single, and the LCD track isn't Daft Punk is Playing at My House, but I think you'll like this one.

All My Zombies

Led Zeppelin - All My Love
Sufjan Stevens - They Are Night Zombies!! They Are Neighbors!! They Have Come Back from the Dead!! Ahhhh!

Originally, "...Zombies!..." was my backing track for my first mashup with Jesus Walks. That is, until I thought to search the web to see if it had been done before. It had, and although it was quite terrible, I'd still have been late to the Sufjan/Kanye party. Fortunately, it also goes with a certain Led Zeppelin track.

For the Widows Standing Nude on the Corner

Sufjan Stevens - For the Widows in Paradise, for the Fatherless in Ypsilanti
Radiohead - Nude
Common - The Corner

I tried to make a Nude remix, but it wasn't happening, and I don't think I could compete with the likes of RAC and Holy Fuck anyway. Still, I had to get my 5 dollars' worth, so here's a Nude mashup, with more Sufjan.

Lastly, a request:
Red Red Love

UB40 - Red Red Wine
Sean Kingston - Me Love

Special thanks to Dan for requesting this and thus motivating me to make some more songs.
