I must admit, I didn't have high hopes, especially since most mashups that have a clever pairing of band names or song titles always come off sounding forced. Like, just because your mashup has a clever name, that doesn't mean it's necessarily going to SOUND clever.
But this is a RARE exception.
HAUNTING ... this takes a song with often overlooked dark themes ("Los Angeles") and puts it into a more proper musical context.
After hearing so many XX mashups phoned in with simple, easy rap vocals plopped on top, this is a welcome surprise.
Dude, this mashup is so amazing! So haunting. So mesmerizing. I can't stop listening to it. You're a genius is all I can really say. A real talent and gift to the mashup community.
