Suicide Springsteen

Suicide's first self-titled record and Springsteen's Nebraska are two of my favorite albums. Both are spare albums - Nebraska's sweaty, minimalist acoustics and Suicide's cold, minimalist electronics. Both albums' lyrics mirror the musical content, filled with songs of isolation, desparation, and sadness. They're hard albums to listen to, but ultimately two very beautiful pieces of art, and excellent night-driving music. If you don't own both in some format, I highly suggest you get on that.

All that being said, here's this thing:

Suicide - Ghost Rider
Bruce Springsteen - State Trooper

Taylor Swift & The Heartbreakers

I'll start this post off with an image that will haunt your dreams:
American Song

Taylor Swift - Our Song
Tom Petty - American Girl

For reasons I myself can't explain, I really like this Taylor Swift song. I've combined it here with one of the greatest songs ever written, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' American Girl.

I just created an artist page on Facebook. So if you don't know how to mess with RSS feeds, or you're not interested in checking here to see if I've posted something, or if you like what I do I guess, feel free to hit that like button.

Rigazi (Fuhanna?)

So the new Girl Talk album was released today. You knew that, right? You've downloaded and listened to it several times over, right? Well, what are you waiting for? As usual, it's great party music, and a nice look into all of pop music history in one hour, but as usual, there are one or two combinations he totally botches. The one that grated my ears the most was a sample of Fugazi's transcendent post-hardcore jam "Waiting Room" laid underneath Rihanna's creepily sexual summer anthem "Rude Boy". Ever since I read there would be Fugazi on this album, I've been drooling at the possibilities, but Greg Gillis failed here. The songs are waaaay out of key, and it just doesn't work for my ears. So I fixed it. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you:
